Verner Panton

Verner Panton (1926-1998) was a Danish architect and designer and one of the most influential designers of the 20th century. He loved colors and experimented with materials and geometric shapes. Panton was focused on usage of plastic materials and exploring the latest technologies. He was known for its innovative and playful design. He studied at the Technical University of Odense and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. After graduation, he worked with the Danish architect Arne Jacobsen. In 1955 he opened his own design studio and designed, in collaboration with Vitra, the Panton Chair, which was his big breakthrough. The objective of his work was always to motivate the people and to use their own imagination.
