October Light Chair

The October Light chair from Nikari is a modern and simple wooden chair, the shapes and lines of it have been influenced by the autumn wind. The designer Samuli Naamanka was inspired by the rainy but colorful Finnish autumn. Especially the complex structure and shape of the wood challenged him. It is only through different techniques of woodworking that distinguish the organic design of Nikari`s October Light chair. October Light is a stackable chair, and an extention of the October chair, that was designed by Samuli Naamanka for the project 12 'Designs for Nature'. The project was a collaboration with the Finnish WWF and Nikari to produce fine quality designer furniture from local, Finnish forests. Many well-known Finnish and international designers cooperated for a good cause for that project.

The chair has also some Japanese influences, since it is relatively small with measurements of 46 x 45 cm and a height/seat height of 78/46 cm and thus fits into smaller apartments without taking up a lot of space. The chair is made of solid wood, the seat of pressed wood veneer.
