Artek Kaari Shelf Round REB 007

The round Kaari shelf is a small and practical design piece that fits anywhere. Kaari is the new design by brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for the Artek furniture collection. With the Kaari series they wanted to design a new furniture collection that is based entirely on the Artek tradition but at the same time new. Unlike the other pieces of furniture, the round Kaari shelf reflects the Aalto 60 stool by Artek with its organic shape. The idea behind the collection is based on an innovative Kaari wooden frame which was originally intended as a table leg and is now the central element of the entire Kaari furniture series. The wooden frame is supported by a curved black steel arch which the shelf stands on. The shelf is optionally surrounded by a black or red border which gives the shelving an interesting detail. The shelf appears airily elegant and can be combined with any other Kaari shelves. Several Kaari shelves in a room together form a beautiful linear silhouette that creates a rhythmic structure.
