Wataru Kumano

Wataru Kumano is a Tokyo resident designer, who studied in Wataru, Japan and holds a master's degree in furniture design of the University of Art and Design (now Aalto University) in Helsinki. After studying in Finland, he returned to Japan and started working in the studio of Jasper Morrison. He now runs his own studio in Tokyo, whose style is a mix of Nordic and Japanese simplicity. Wataru Kumano, together with Jasper Morrison, designed the minimalist December chair with clear Scandinavian feature - ash wood and textile seat for Nikari Oy.
