Cecilie Manz

Cecilie Manz

Cecilie Manz (born in 1972) is a Danish industrial designer, who is considered one of the leading Danish furniture designers of her generation. Her work includes furniture, jewellery, lamps and sculptures. Her Mikado table has been included in MOMA's design collection. She runs her own design studio in Copenhagen, where she combines modern Danish design traditions, sustainable materials and craft skills. Her creative motto is: "Everything is possible!" and her products are truly new, innovative and encouraging. Her lamps for Lightyears, innovative in small details, show the Scandinavian design influence. Their designs are unique, but do not steal the attention of the light itself. On the contrary, their designs represent rather the functionality of the lamp. The lamps of Cecilie Manz are always a recognition of her personal favorites. She won, among others, the Danish Design Award in 2004, the IF Product Design Award in 2007, the Finn Juhl Prize in 2007, the Crown Prince Couple's Culture Prize in 2014.
