Henning Koppel

Henning Koppel (1918-1981) was a Danish designer, sculptor and graphic artist and one of the most famous Scandinavian designers of the post-twar period. He influenced significantly the typical Danish design and was a pioneer of functionality in design. His goal was to design practical furniture for everyday purposes, but with a nice look. His design concepts range from jewels to lighting equipment, for which he received numerous international awards, for e.g. the Lunning Prize in 1953, the International Design Award of the American Institute of Designers in 1963.
