Marimekko Pieni Karhuemo Cushion Cover 50x50 cm

This Marimekko cotton cushion cover features the pattern of Pieni Karhuemo printed in Helsinki. The cover has a concealed zipper on one side. The pillowcases are sewn across the entire width of the fabric, so their appearance may vary slightly. Each piece is unique.  

The Karhuemo (Mother Bear) pattern is based on a botanical sketch by Aino-Maija Metsola for the Ruudut (Squares) print, a collaboration of four designers for Marimekko's Spring 2021 collection, the year of the company's 70th anniversary. To the flowers and leaves of the original sketch, Aino-Maija added a bear with its cub. The ground hums under the galloping mother bear, while the baby has stood on its hind legs to observe the land.
