Details

This PH 2/1 table lamp made of brass belongs to the newer versions of the Louis Poulsen PH lamp series The PH 2/1 lamp in Scandinavian style was already designed in the years 1925/26 by Poul Henningsen and was one of the first models, which were created with the help of Louis Poulsen, which were also shown at an exhibition in Paris. This collaboration lasted until the death of P. Henningsen in 1967.

Poul Henningsen always wanted to create luminaires with glare-free light that cast soft shadows and direct the light cone to the right place. The designer was the first to study light on a scientific basis using the logarithmic spiral. With its help and the use of glass, he achieved an even distribution of light and diffuse reflection, i.e. glare effects and shadows could be specifically influenced. The brightness is evenly dampened by the individual screen elements. The figures refer to the size of the screen segments. The original luminaires, such as model 2/2, have three segments, each 20 cm in diameter. Model PH 2/1, however, consists of an upper segment of 20 cm in diameter and a smaller one below, which are taken from model 1/1. The table lamp is also available in other versions.

The lampshades are made of mouth-blown opalized three-layer glass, glossy on the outside and matt inside.

Supply line length: 1.75 m. Switch: supply line with intermediate switch.

This lamp can be operated with a lamp of 1 x 33W QT-AX 14 G9.
