Leimu table lamp creates a relaxed and cozy atmosphere, as her Finnish name Leimu or English flame suggests. The Leimu lamp by Iittala is composed of the exciting contrasts of the solid concrete base and the light, mouth-blown glass. Sensitivity and strength as well as cold and warmth meet in Leimu in a way that turns the lamp into a sensitive and modern, Scandinavian influenced table lamp. Sensitivity and strength meet in Leimu in a way that turns the lamp into a sensitive and modern, Scandinavian influenced table lamp. With its reduced, Nordic shapes and flowing transitions of different materials, Leimu is a modern lamp that illuminates any room with warm and comfortable light.
A young Norwegian designer, Magnus Pettersen, is responsible for the design. Iittala, with their many years of experience and expertise in glass processing, was particularly good at helping Pettersen with the design. Magnus Pettersen runs his own studio in London and is known for his style of "industrial luxury", which combines seemingly contradictory materials and colors. Iittala is known for design objects, utensils, cookware and home interior objects in a progressive, elegant and timeless design.
