Fritz Hansen Grand Prix Chair Lacquered

The Grand Prix chair is manufactured by the Danish furniture manufacturer Fritz Hansen and was designed by Arne Jacobsen. In 1957, the Grand Prix chair with its simple, Scandinavian design was presented at the Danish Arts and Crafts Spring Exhibition at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Copenhagen. In the same year, the chair in minimalist, Nordic design was shown at the Milan Triennale and promptly received the highest award at that fair - the Grand Prix.
