This bar stool is a well-preserved exhibition piece. It can be viewed by appointment in our warehouse in Zurich. Please contact us for this purpose. The Shoemaker chair from the Danish furniture manufacturer is a true classic that has been made in Denmark since 1936 - where it is still made today by their local cabinetmaker. The Shoemaker chair was originally designed by Werner, a family-run design firm. The seat is formed from one large, solid piece of wood and the variations in the wood grain make each Shoemaker Chair™ completely unique. The turned legs and stabilizing T-joint together create a harmonious and aesthetic piece of furniture with with Nordic design elements. The construction of this chair by Form and Refine may look quite simple and basic, but it is technically difficult to master. The solid piece of wood must be carved very carefully to ensure maximum comfort. At the end of the process, each model is finished by hand before entering a three-step process of staining or oiling finishes. Form and Refine's Shoemaker chair has been tirelessly tweaked since its inception, and year after year, minor aspects are adjusted - both in the production process and in the final product. Among other things, T-legs were added for extra stability and the seat was reshaped and rounded so that if the chair were to fall, the rounded profile would protect the top line from breaking.
