Artek Kiki Chair

Tapiovaara created the Kiki collection in 1960 for Artek with the aim of designing affordable furniture for a broad consumer group. The Kiki chair does not comply with the earlier designs prefered by Tapiovaara of organic shapes, but is a typically Scandinavian clean and simple design. Instead of wood he used steel tubes for the Kiki chair. Artek introduced the Kiki chair in 2012 after about 52 years after its first launch. The sofa was a huge success again because it corresponds to the current Zeitgeist and reflects the direction of the future furniture designs. Kiki is a timeless and elegant Scandinavian armchair from Finland. It is produced by the Artek company which belongs to the Swiss Vitra.
