The A333 from Finnish manufactuer Artek, known as the “Turnip” for its organic shape, combines elegance with Scandinavian simplicity to stunning effect. When in use, light emerges through the circular recesses near the top of the lampshade, serving to emphasise the pendant light’s rounded form. “Turnip” was created for the National Pensions Institute building in Helsinki by Alvar Aalto.
The light is ideal for over the dining table or on the bar counter and just looks timelessly beautiful.
Providing illumination from above, pendant lights may be employed singly or in series. In the designing of the pendant lights that form the Artek collection, great attention has been paid to meeting two criteria. Firstly, each light should be seen and must satisfy aesthetic demands, and secondly, the quality of light cast should be exceptional, bright-toned, and diffuse. The illumination the light provides should enhance the space it inhabits. Two versions of this product are available; white with a ring in white or in brass.
