The Divan 2 lamp from Danish manufacturer Lyfa is a captivating pendant lamp designed by Simon P. Henningsen in 1962 and now available in solid brass. The carefully positioned trapezoids provide a soft and pleasant downward light, while the plates give a fascinating play of light in the room. A Nordic, sculptural work of art that is still handmade to perfection. Divan, with its Scandinavian, pure look, has been awarded several Danish and international design prizes. In 1963, it was even exhibited at the Louvre in Paris.
The beautiful play of light from the Divan pendant lamp changes with the position of the viewer, concealing the light source and eliminating glare. Divan 2, with a Nordic look, is a masterpiece of lighting design that is a joy to behold even when turned off.
The Divan series consists of pendant lights in four different sizes. Each size is available in solid brass or in a polished stainless steel version with multi-colored trapezoids (red, blue, purple, beige and teal).
Simon P. Henningsen created this pendant light for the famous Tivoli restaurant in Copenhagen.
