The design of the Panthella lamp is one of Verner Panton's most important works and embodies the extraordinary personality of the Danish architect. His goal was to create an organically shaped lamp that offers completely glare-free light by using both the shade and the stand as reflectors. In 1971, the Panthella lamp was created in collaboration with Louis Poulsen. Its striking shape and ability to reflect a soft light from the trumpet-shaped base have made it a true design icon. The Panthella 160 Portable is a compact version of the original. With a diameter of just 160 mm, it is ideal for being flexibly taken from one room to another or even outside onto the balcony or garden. No matter where it is placed, it creates a stylish look and a pleasant atmosphere.
The new Panthella 160 Portable has touch dimming that is switched on and off by touching the upper nut. The battery life has been extended from 5 to 8.5 hours at 100% brightness. Instead of metal shades, only polymer shades are used. Charging is only via USB-C; wireless QI charging is not possible. Thanks to improved technology and optimized procurement, the light can be offered at a more competitive price.
