Fritz Hansen Orient Pendant Aluminium

The characteristic Orient pendant in brushed aluminium is a light and elegant addition to the existing Orient series of Lightyears. This oriental-inspired lamp made of brushed aluminium not only reflects the current zeitgeist but is also classically beautiful. The Orient pendant lamp was designed in 1963 by Jo Hammerborg. Lightyears relaunched this real Scandinavian design classic 50 years later in 2013. The lamp has soft and organic forms, as is quite often found in Danish design, and consists of a silver-coloured aluminium shade and a top made of oak. The Orient lamp shade is hand spun in a wooden mould, a feature that underlines the original, organic shape and true craftsmanship of this pendant. The top has narrow slits through which the light shines into the room. The tip is extended by a grey blue textile cord creating a harmonious and soft connection. The design of the lamp is simply outstanding. The lamp looks like a falling drop, light and unobtrusive and radiates an enjoyable and soft light without blinding.
