This iconic armchair was designed by the famous Finnish designer Yrjö Kukkapuro and has been produced by Artek since 2014. The seat shell of the Karuselli armchair consists of one piece and is shaped exactly according to the ergonomics of Kukkapuro's body. The inspiration for the chair originally came from the snow as a snow chair.
Karuselli is not only rotatable, but also pivotable, as its name suggests. It was only in 1964 that Kukkapuro succeeded in producing the armchair in its current form in plastic, after experimenting with various other materials such as plywood for a long time. Seat shell and leg are made of white fiberglass. The suspension is made of a curved chrome-plated steel strip and the seat shell is lined with leather

available in various colors. The Karuselli armchair is also available with a matching ottoman.
Karuselli is one of the classics of the Vitra miniature collection. The armchair achieved real cult status in the 60s and 70s through its placement in various films, such as the James Bond film 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'.
